…Or welcome, as we say in English!
This is my first time writing a blog post, so please be kind! Let me introduce myself: my name is Giordano, but my nonna calls me Gigi so feel free to call me that too. I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Toronto where hundreds of cultures intersect and mesh together perfectly to create neighbourhoods with distinct vibes. Luckily for me, I am a member of one of the larger cultural communities in Toronto; I’m Italian-Canadian! Which means that although I shouldn’t have any trouble finding things to inspire me, I may be a little spoiled for choice.
But, if there’s one thing most Italians know and love–besides soccer (forza Palermo!), arguing (ain’t that the truth), and food (ovvio)–is coffee (or as we say in Italy, caffè). Coffee is deeply rooted in our cultura. I personally have been exposed to coffee since I was a child, and there was a time when my nonno would make me “Zuppa Inglese” with day-old Italian bread, espresso, and some warm milk. That was my cereal as a kid! To this day, I still get my nonno to make me coffee because I swear it’s the best! Coffee is an integral part of my day, and I may have become a little bit of an espresso fiend after my last trip to the motherland…
But this blog is as much about me as it is about you guys! Do you also have a passion for coffee? As I go through this blog, hopefully I get the privilege of perhaps sharing a coffee or two with some of you guys. Chissà!
Sooooo let’s go on a coffee adventure!
Alla Prossima! 🙂
